That’s pretty bad ass
You might find this amusing.
We took a boat trip across the lake to a place called Salo (Nice place!) The boats are as big, if not bigger than the Mersey ferries. Anyway, coming back we were to catch the 2:15 boat otherwise we’d have to wait a further 2 hrs which we didn’t want. We waited on a bench a little way up the quayside for the boat to arrive. We thought the boat must be running late since we couldn’t see one approaching at 2.10. Your mum then said “is that the boat moored over there ?” It was a boat that had been moored for all the time we’d been there. And they looked like they were just about to set sail and pulling up the gang plank. we legged it to the boat and made it just as they’d pulled the gang plank aboard & un hitched.
They did let us on (the deck-hand muttering something about “last minute…”
Just as we sat in our seat the boat pulled a way from the quay but there was a commotion at the queyside Ilooked out of the window and couldnt really make out what was happening but in that instant I said to your mum “My camera! Where’s my Camera?” I’d only gone and left it on the bench we were sitting on in the rush to make the boat. Some guy was waving it to the crew but wed set sail!!!
Thankfully the captain took pity and pulled the boat back in, which was a relief but also VERY embarrasing. the boat was packed full of people watching (What a Berk i must have looked)
I gave the guy some cash for his honsety and retired to the bowls of the ship in discrace. One good thing, Quite a few other people who had missed the boat first time now arrived and came aboard thanks to me holding it up

I saw quite a few films this weekend including: Men in Black, Deep Impact and Equilibrium. But today’s accidental find was The Birdman of Alcatraz on BBC2.
Prison movies tend to be pretty good, (green mile, Escape from alcatraz, Shawshank etc.) but this was an oldie, noticed because of the black and white, and Burt Lancaster, I was flicking through channels and stopped because Burt was throwing a sparrow on to his bunk and saying “Why don’t you fly?!” which I admit made me laugh, turns out it’s quite a big film too.
Really good stuff, long too, 13:35-16:00, and there was me thinking all old films in black and white were short!
Anyway, thoroughly recommend it, I’m getting it on DVD when I’m paid!
Since I’ve been getting the train to and from work I’ve noticed on particularly draining days I fall asleep on the train home, but not just normal falling asleep, it’s weird.
I sort of float between being asleep and being awake, the only thing keeping me awake is some sort of uncontrollable jolting, maybe it’s the train’s movements but I don’t hear conversations or noises when in this strange state. I also wake up suddenly normally with my head jolting backwards.
It probably looks a bit strange to bystanders but I secretly think I’ve managed to master the super power of Stasis :)

The Power of Flight!
